The DSC (Deanery Synodal Council)
The DSC are tasked with continuing to implement the Pastoral Plan into a Parish Development Strategy as agreed at by those attending the Archdiocesan Synodal Council in 2023
As part of this the DSC and the Archdiocese are continuing the ongoing work related to the aging and declining number of priests This is coupled with a long-term trend of smaller congregations relative to those of 10 or 20 years ago.
These reviews consider how Priests , Churches and associated buildings are utilised in a sustainable manner. Both St Maries and St Patricks have representatives at all meetings so that we have up to date information on any thoughts from the Archdiocese and ensure we can express our views on behalf of St Maries and St Patricks.
