Advent The liturgical year of the Church came to an end on 2nd December and the new year has begun with the season of Advent … a time of grace and joy as we prepare for the great feast of Christmas!
This year our theme is: “the Joy of Love” · The children have already been given Advent calendars … why not look at it each day with them and sing a carol … a lovely way to pray as a family during Advent. · December 1st – 1st Celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation for our 43 children from St Marie’s and St Patrick’s……please join us in prayer · Emmaus Prayer – Sunday evenings 7.30p.m. at St Patrick’s · Triduum of Prayer – St Joseph’s Prayer Centre, Freshfield – 5th – 7th December · December 8th 9a.m. – 6p.m. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at St Marie’s on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary · December 9th 2-4.30p.m. – Advent with St Joseph…..at the Convent of Notre Dame, Weld Rd - 568361 · Reflections led by the Irenaeus Group in St Patrick’s Church Hall – Thursdays 7p.m. on the 8th, 15th and 22nd December · December 13th 7p.m. at St Patrick’s - Celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the Parish’s of St Marie’s, St Patrick’s and Holy Family · December 19th 2p.m. and 20th 7p.m. School Nativity Concert in Church for our families and Parishes · December 24th 11.30p.m. in St Marie’s and St Patrick’s – Vigil of Carols with reflections (before Midnight Mass)
Christmas Mass: · Midnight Mass in both Parishes (with Service of carols and reflections from 11.30p.m.) · 9.30a.m. Mass at St Marie’s · 11a.m. Mass at St Patrick’s
All other Mass over Christmastide, including New Year’s Eve / Day, as normal |
